What is a bumpcap?
Bumbcaps are protective caps featuring a thin plastic shell. For the time being, these caps were only distributed in the world of industrial equipment, with little regard for looks, and never had a fastening system or chinstrap. The Oakowa team has specially developed a complete line of attractive protective caps that best meet the needs of outdoor sports where helmets are not compulsory. Oakowa caps protect you from the elements better than a conventional cap, and look just as cool, but they're no substitute for a helmet.
What are the advantages of bumbcaps?
The advantage of Oakowa bumpcaps lies in their overall protection against the elements, while maintaining a really cool look and benefiting from an ingenious system of removable fasteners that will adapt to your sport, whether it's water or land.

What model from the Oakowa collection should i buy?
The Oakowa range comes in three models: the Hydro, the Sk8 and the Trucker.
The Hydro is more specifically designed for water sports, with its microperforated fabric and reinforced visor, but is also suitable for sports where good visibility is required, thanks to its light-reflective fabric. The Trucker will suit everyone, while the Sk8 is aimed at a younger audience with its flat visor and minimalist look.
What are earmuff made for?
Removable ear protectors are designed for aquatic spotrs in general, such as surfing, kiting, wing foïling....., but also for all users who need maximum hold of the cap in hectic conditions, or who also want greater protection against the sun.
Do Oakowa caps float in water?
Yes, Oakowa caps float in water, but for sports like surfing, the eddies are such that they can drag the cap deep into the water, making it difficult not to lose it.
Can I do without an helmet if I use an Oakowa cap?
No, Oakowa caps are no substitute for a helmet.
What standards do Oakowa caps meet ?
Oakowa caps comply with the EN 812 standard, which protects the head against light impacts, such as shocks from fixed objects or cuts from sharp objects. The main advantage is that these caps are more comfortable to wear because they are light, flexible and well ventilated, while still providing effective protection, making them suitable for environments with a low risk of serious injury.
What sizes do Oakowa caps cover?
Oakowa caps cover standard sizes 52 to 63.
